Phosphorus Cybersecurity Opens New Global Headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee
IoT security company consolidates Georgia and California offices, creating up to 50 jobs
NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Phosphorus Cybersecurity, which provides full scope security for IoT devices, announced the opening of its new global headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. The company’s offices in Georgia and California are consolidated into this new office in Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood. The Gulch neighborhood is located on the edge of Nashville’s Central Business District and offers the best in urban living, office, retail, restaurant, entertainment and hospitality.
In evaluating cities for our new home-base, Nashville quickly rose to the top. Tennessee’s business-friendly environment combined with Nashville’s quality of life and highly-skilled workforce made this move a natural choice for our growing company.
said Chris Rouland, founder and CEO of Phosphorus.
A key draw for Phosphorus to the city is Nashville’s network of prominent colleges and universities, like Vanderbilt University. Its School of Engineering includes a cybersecurity program, with a focus on IoT and cyber-physical security, and should provide a great source of talent for the company.
Phosphorus conducts basic, scalable security hygiene to protect IoT devices––inventory, patching, and credential management––automating remediation against IoT’s most critical vulnerabilities. The company will raise $20 million in capital this year, redeploying the majority of the proceeds into talent to drive profitable sales growth. Up to 50 jobs will be added over the next three years, with software engineers being the primary hires as the company invests in engineering know-how to continue to fortify its proprietary IoT security software.
About Phosphorus
Today, most enterprises have far more embedded computing devices than people, presenting a massive, unprotected and often undetected cyber-attack surface. IoT is the softest target on the enterprise network with a seven-year half-life for vulnerability patching and infrequent credential rotation. Phosphorus is securing the IoT by fully automating the remediation of the two biggest vulnerabilities—out-of-date firmware and default credentials. The U.S.-based team has a proven track record of cybersecurity software innovation. For more information on Phosphorus, visit https://www.phosphorus.io/
