Before cybersecurity, Phillip was a system administrator for over 6 years. He is a former adjunct instructor and taught pentesting and web app pentesting. Phillip is the concept creator and coauthor of The Pentester Blueprint: Starting a Career as an Ethical Hacker. He is a frequent conference and keynote speaker, speaking both in the US and internationally. Phillip received the 2023 SANS Difference Makers Award for Podcast of the Year.
